This jingle "late night munchies" is stuck in my head right now for some reason. I can hear that guy (who sings the jingle) belting it out, but can not recall what product is being sold in this commercial.
Moving on. I don't even know why I have kept my blog. "The Marong Life" isn't very exciting if I don't log in and write about it. At 10:48pm I would typically be sleeping, with one eye open, waiting for the next wake up call from my almost 7 month old son. But tonight, I had a desire to log in to our blog and babble.
My husband is snoring away. The life of a family medicine intern sure isn't glitzy or glamorous. He's pooped out every night by about 10pm. The hours suck and I just realized that our holidays will never be the same. How naive I am to think that doctors get to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with their families. Who would be running the hospital? So at this point the coolest thing about my husband's job is that he gets to save lives ... okay, well not literally since he's not a heart surgeon or anything ... but he does take care of sick people and deliver cute little babies.
Enough of my babble. Time to join my family in our cozy bedroom ... yes, my son still sleeps next to us in his pack 'n play. He's just too cute to put into his own room.

Alieu Xaisana Marong
He arrived in a whirl wind and as life would have it - the past 2.75 months have been one as well! I keep pinching myself because I can't believe I am a parent. Each night as I look over at him sleeping in his pack 'n play next to our bed I am amazed that this little guy is here and now apart of our lives forever. So much has changed in these few short months yet life seems to be moving as I always thought it would and should be.

Little Alieu will be the #20 grandchild and his cousins are patiently waiting for his arrival! He is already such an active little guy that his 20 week ultrasound took nearly an hour!

All things vampire
I have become utterly obsessed with all things vampire. First the Twilight Saga, now True Blood and maybe the Vampire Diaries - the judgment call isn't out on this one yet. The husband and I just finished Season 2 of True Blood. Alan Ball has taken Charlaine Harris' books and transformed them into television pleasure. True Blood has it's fair share of "over the top, you've got to be kidding" story lines, but nothing makes you crack a smile like Jason Stackhouse! Season 2 was filled with maenads, dionysus (I do enjoy greek mythology) and shapeshifters.
The Sookie Stackhouse books were first published in 2001 and somehow I see similarities in the Twilight Saga. Sookie can read minds and has this supernatural power that develops at the end of season 2. The maenad can't cast a spell over her ... uncanny resemblance to Bella in book 4 after she's become a vampire and is able to create a shield that blocks out other vampire's powers.
Season 3 will introduce werewolves! Perhaps a love story will form between Sookie and one particular wolf. Hmmm ... Jacob and Bella anyone? I can't possibly wait until June 2010 to watch this season. I must keep up with spoilers along the way!

Lazy vacation days
It's a gloomy day in not so sunny San Diego. The nieces and I are about to hit up Fashion Valley mall where the store directory consists of shops that I can't afford to shop in. We are on the home stretch of this vacation. I am not quite sure that I want to go home, but yet I am not quite sure that I can spend another week staying up past 2am and be productive the next day.
This vacay has consisted of ...
1) Eating
2) Drinking Coffee Bean lattes
3) Watching movies at 2am
4) Sleeping
5) Visiting the ... Pool, Zoo, Costco every other day, Walmart, Malls, Beach
6) Eating again
7) Drinking Starbucks lattes

Tis' the season for vacations!
August = the slowest time at work and the best time for vacationing with my family! Big sister just returned home from Iraq and we are all off to San Diego for some fun in the sun where 2 more big sisters live!
I have made it my life's work to have as many 80's parties as possible. My crazy family now thinks I am the crazy one for making them dress up for an 80's/pool party/bbq/family reunion. I was hoping for family reunion t-shirts, but I think the header might be a bit too long.
This little vacation of ours will definitely give me more blogging fodder! Family be warned ...
